Our History
Sauganash School for the Young Years was founded in 1974 as a non-profit school and continues to serve our community with the support of the Sauganash Community Church.
Program Director, Mrs. Kristie Hagopian, has been teaching the young children in our community for the last 34 years. It is a testament to the program that former students are now bringing their own children to experience the same educational foundation that they had as young preschoolers. Families in the neighborhood are grateful that our preschool continues to thrive.
Our Curriculum
Our classroom is carefully designed to enhance the creative development needs of young children. The room arrangement is child sized, placed at a child's level, and developmentally appropriate for the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Young Years has demonstrated a commitment to providing a high quality program for young children and their families. Our focus is placed on the quality of interactions among teachers and children and the developmental appropriateness of the curriculum. Health and safety, staff qualifications, physical environment, and administration are all reviewed annually.
Our Philosophy
We believe that children grow faster and learn more during the first five years of development than at any other time in their lives. Our goals for the children in our care consist of four main areas: social, emotional, intellectual, and physical. A positive, nurturing preschool setting lays the foundation for success in all future school experiences.

2-Day Program
Tuesdays/Thursdays
- 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- $2,340.00 per year (9 payments of $260.00)
3-Day Program
Monday/Wednesday/Friday Morning
- 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- $3,240.00 per year (9 payments of $360)
Prerequisites
- Enrollment open to children 2.5, 3, 4, and 5 years of age.
- Medical report required prior to admission.
- Immunizations must be up to date as required by current city/state regulations.
Additional Fees & Information
- $100 non-refundable enrollment fee.
- insurance fee to cover your child for the entire school year.
- snack fee to cover your child's snack for the entire school year.
- Tuition must be paid in 9 equal payments due by the 1st of each month.
- There are no tuition deductions for absent days which includes illness, emergency closings, and vacation.
- Classes with less than 12 registrants are subject to cancellation.
